As a girl and student attending MCM College in Chandigarh, India, I face daily harassment. Every day, I am followed home, subjected to an unwelcome revelations, and teased. It's a tribulation that's become part of my daily routine, and it is one that countless others face as well. No girl should live in fear while pursuing her education.

This harassment is more than just annoying—it's illegal, according to the BNS laws for safety- Section 354A: Defines and penalises sexual harassment, including unwelcome physical contact, advances, and comments.

Section 354D: Covers stalking, including persistent and unwanted surveillance or following.

Section 509: Addresses acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman through gestures or words.

Yet, it continues outside MCM College every single day.

As a student of MCM, I have personally faced eve-teasing and harassment every day that I have been to college. On numerous occasions, I have been followed home by multiple cars. Along with this, boys slow down their cars, chase me and other students with them when we are on foot, pass comments and even block our way when we drive on the road outside the college.  

These boys also record girls without their permission and post their photos and videos on social media, asking for their personal information. 

The objective of this petition is to urge local authorities to take concrete steps to stop this ongoing harassment of women.
