Protest during City Hall Meeting, New Westminster , March 30th, 5 to 7 pm, please be there!

Hello All,
Thank you for your support of this petition!
We see how a few underlying issues affect all New Westminster residents and ask that you forward this to others in New West that have not yet signed this petition.
There is a Council Meeting starting at 6 pm on Monday, March 30th. If you are able to send an email with your concerns to mayorandcouncillors@newwestcity.ca before noon on Monday, your email will be included in the meeting minutes. This is very important. No need of long emails. Citing the general issues we all know now are more than enough.
Two prominent city-wide issues are:
The City and BC Housing used Crisis Amendment Bylaws to avoid the need for a) project approval by Council, b) change in land use from industrial to residential and c) need for public consultation. They have done this by defining "affordable housing" as a crisis. If you object to the City using Crisis Amendment bylaws to avoid the need for approvals, permitting and public consultation, please send an email to mayorandcouncillors@newwestcity.ca.
BC Housing has not provided any data to show that a tiny home village helps reduce homelessness. This village was used in the City of Victoria for five years yet BC Housing will not give us any data on number housed, number who went on to permanent housing, number evicted, and number who returned to the street. When its permit expired, Victoria did not relocate this village. Victoria asked the twelve surrounding municipalities to take it. All twelve of Victoria's neighbors declined. No other city in Metro Vancouver is choosing a tiny home village. If you object to the City installing a tiny home village when there is no data to show that it resolves the homeless issue, please send an email to mayorandcouncillors@newwestcity.ca.
We will be at the Council Meeting on Monday. Please join us at 6 pm if you are available to show support during the meeting, inside the city hall.
Everyone else can joint the peaceful protest outside City Hall from 5pm to 7pm.
Thanks again.
