The Issue

On April 30, 2025, a NASDAQ article noted that Trump's net worth doubled from $2.3 billion in 2024 to over $5 billion in 2025.  His crypto investments, "which had slumped to 88%" in April, as reported by CBS News, "got a boost after his meme coin website invited the top 220 holders of the digital token to an 'intimate private dinner' with the president."

The average donor paid $1.78M to attend and Trump's financial gain is estimated at $148M.  Additionally, according to CBS, "the $TRUMP meme coin surged as much as 58% after the dinner offer was posted."  It has since returned to $lumped mode.  This happy fact does not negate the dangers this dinner posed and the power it could bestow on We the People.

The dangers include the possibility of foreign influence and violations of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, potential conflicts of interest and corruption, ethical concerns regarding presidential profiteering, and the lack of transparency regarding the identities of of all attendees and donors who may influence policy decisions.  All of these factors are possible violations of the law or the constitution, whether or not this was "personal time" and other laws may have been violated, specifically because this wasn't an official event, such as 18 U.S.C. § 713 and Executive Order 11649, which address the use of the Presidential Seal.

When asked about some of these concerns, White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, stated that Trump attended the event “on his personal time.”  This is where our opportunity lies.  If the event was not part of his presidential duties, as noted in this public admission, Trump could potentially be held to account for possible illegal, unconstitutional actions uncovered by a legitimate and unbiased investigation.

For Trump and his billionaire cronies to make themselves even more disgustingly rich while our family members, neighbors and fellow humans are detained and deported without due process or are terrified of that happening, is immoral.  That children cannot afford to launch their adult lives, that people in their thirties and forties can't afford to live without roommates, is no American dream.  That millions of people will lose their health insurance AFTER MIDTERMS so billionaires can have even more . . . Enough.

The "shock and awe" tactic of this administration is really an "abuse, horrify and repulse" campaign.  With all the inhumanities this administration is forcing on our people and our democracy, the continued grift adds offense to fury and outrage. Don't let it go unnoticed.  Don't let him get away with it.

We have a shot at holding him accountable.  REPRESENTATIVES, Let's roll.
