Hello! Before I get to the poor camel I posted about yesterday, the picture above shows a thirsty lion drinking from a filthy pool/moat taken on December 28th 2017 in Bandung Zoo. The pool is most likely the lion's only source of drinking water. All the pool/drinking water for the animals are filthy, green with algae and I can assure you, it isn't wheat grass juice! So someone asked Cee4Life on their facebook page about the skinny and sickly looking camel from my update yesterday. Cee4Life/Sybelle Foxcroft, Bandung Zoo’s exclusive NGO partner confirmed that the camel was indeed sick. Here is Cee4Life’s response, “The camel is quite old and has had a series of digestive problems. The photo was taken just after the operation about 1 month ago, and is all good now.” Accusation was then made by Cee4Life that this petition and we animal advocates are “trying to stop aid coming to the animals…” I am not sure how Sybelle arrived at this conclusion or why she continues to accuse those who are advocating for better animal welfare in Indonesia animal haters? Why does she say that a zoo that keeps their animals in filth, a zoo that appears to be on steroids with their breeding programs, a zoo that does not provide fresh drinking water for the animals, as animal lovers? Just whom is Cee4Life advocating for? In addition, accusation was also made that the picture of the camel was “stolen” from Bandung Zoo’s vet. I am not sure how a public picture can belong to the vet or be "stolen". Cee4Life also volunteered to do a video of the skinny sick camel. If Cee4Life wants to prove that everything is “all good now”, posting a picture of the camel’s surgical wound, would suffice. The scar should still be visible since surgery was supposedly performed 1 month ago. A video is quite unnecessary, and how would we know if the same camel would be shown? By the way, do not expect to find the comments Sybelle made in Cee4Life facebook page about the sick camel. They were deleted several hours after she posted them. This appears to be something she does frequently. Cee4Life also informed their facebook followers and supporters on 16th December 2017, “We will and have been showing you what is happening in Bandung Zoo, good and bad, success's and set backs” So why was this sick and skinny camel never shown or mentioned in any of Cee4Life facebook posts? Why does Cee4Life always post about how much the zoo love and care for their captive animals? Please keep in mind that this December post made by Sybelle may now be removed or edited. Please continue to be the voice of these poor animals by signing and sharing this petition and also the following two petitions as they are linked to this petition. 1) https://www.change.org/p/minister-of-forestry-and-environment-siti-nuraya-bakar-shut-down-indonesia-zoos-association-pkbsi 2) https://www.change.org/p/boycott-tourism-to-cruel-indonesia-now As always, thanks for giving your voice to these animals, for being their advocates and for your continue support.
