Petition update

A small step...

Feb 23, 2017 — Hello all,

Here is the latest news from Jakarta Post regarding Indonesia's Zoos. It is a small step but a positive one but we still need to keep the pressure on. Hopefully I will have another call to action next week
http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2017/02/18/zoos-to-be-standardized-to-combat-animal-abuse.html

Trying to find out when the roll out of this plan will happen.

I was contacted by AnimalHouseTV a few days ago who wants to do a feature on Bandung Zoo and possibly help relocate some of the animals. I am not sure if it will happen for sure. Trying to contact local animal advocate groups to see if they will help make this happen and to see if the logistics can be worked out. It may happen or it may fall apart but I just want to keep everyone in the loop. Thx for your support as always. Below is the response from their producer.

Hello Pho Yee

I have been looking over the information and working through travel scenarios but first let me address your question about what I have in mind. Ideally, we would be able to get the owners to agree to release the animals and NOT get anymore. We would then have to work like hell to find a place for them. Somewhere in the world. If we cannot find a place for them to go, then we need to find someone that can take them in and help them get set up to care for them.

We have found that working for animals, in the capacity of a filmmaker AND an advocate, inspires people to do the right thing. We would like to visit / interview the government officials, the animal owners and tourism office. We will create positive pressure and ask them to do their best for the animals.

In short, we can ask them nicely to do something for the animals and if they don't we make a lot of noise.

I am working on a travel budget and would need to do a fund-raiser to cover my expenses over. Where are you located? Are there people in Indonesia that can help us get around?
