I called National Geographic several times last month as I wanted to ask if they would write about the conditions of zoos in Indonesia but was UNABLE to get to speak with anyone. So you can imagine how pleased I am when Lola Webber of AFCF programme director sent me this link just now. It appears that Geo took it upon themselves and wrote about the horrors that continues to this day in majority of zoos in Indonesia. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/02/wildlife-watch-indonesia-zoos-animal-welfare/ I contacted World Association of Zoos and Aquarium (WAZA) last year and was told Bandung Zoo is not their member and said they would contact SEAZA (their South East Asia branch) to investigate but I never heard from them. I contacted WAZA again last month but only received an out of office response. I will contact them again.
