Good Morning-

Today and for the rest of the week, we are alerting the media to the fact that 19 states in the country owe more in student loan debt than their entire state budget.  This is a story that the people need to know about, and that starts with telling the media about it.  This will only happen when you make it happen. 

Here is our email list of media contacts in all 50 states.  Please use it to send a message to media in your state.  Say something like this: 

It was recently discovered that 19 U.S. states owe more in student loan debt than their entire state budgets.  Please see this report.  This is unnacceptable, and the people deserve to know about it.  I hope that you will report on it. 

If there are news stations that we didn't include for your state, please find an email address for them (usually on the "contact" page of their website), and send it to us!

This should be the top of the news in some places.  We've gotten coverage in Texas, Minnesota, New York, and on C-Span so far, but we need to get way more.  When you help us push it out, it should spread quickly.  But it starts with you.  This petition requires more than your signature to be successful. Please make it count.
