Our son, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, is serving 40 years for a non-violent cannabis crime.

In the mid-nineties, while struggling with drug addiction, Edwin associated himself with marijuana dealers to pay back an incurred drug debt.

After a DEA investigation (and the arrest of the marijuana dealers) Edwin was charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana, despite not being found with any drugs, guns, or money.

Confident of his innocence, Edwin proceeded to trial, unaware that he would receive 40 years. The evidence used against him was the HEARSAY testimony of the cooperating drug dealers, who were seeking a lower sentence from the prosecution.

Edwin has spent 27 years in prison. This is more than enough time for a marijuana crime.

While in prison, Edwin became a devoted Christian, completed a Master's degree in counseling, and is now working toward his Doctorate degree. He is also learning to become a writer. Above all of these accomplishments, Edwin also serves as a mentor to others. Even prison officials have noted and praised his rehabilitative efforts.

We all love Edwin very much. He's not a rapist, a terrorist, or a violent individual. Please ask President Trump to grant him clemency or a pardon.
