Give University of Idaho students one more week off before online classes start
The Issue
As far as I have heard, the University is still asking students to begin ALL of their classes ONLINE this coming Monday-- the same day that majority of Greek students are being asked to return to campus to gather our belongings. On top of that, we are receiving new information that we will be expected to pack and gather everything within a 24 hour period. In my specific case, my sororities Nationals has decided that if we are unable to complete packing within this time period, our belongings will be thrown away. Now, whether we are a pro-expert packer/mover and can get all of our belongings gathered and packed in one single day, it still will leave several students stressed beyond belief. Trying to pack up our belongings on March 23rd (instead of May 23rd like we all planned) is emotional and stressful enough for everyone. Having classes begin this coming Monday as well is insensitive and asking way too much of your students during an already chaotic and emotional time. Thinking of having to simultaneously complete upcoming assignments, attending virtual class lectures at specific times, and having to pack up all our belongings within 24 hours, seems close to impossible and will limit our ability to give our full efforts in completing all given tasks.
