Thank you for all your support! Since this petition started a lot of progress has been made with allowing students to use their preferred name on ID cards and more! While the school is still working on putting together a finalized policy and reconstructing the main database software, the project will hopefully be completed soon. Not only are preferred names going to be used on ID cards, but they will show on rosters that teachers receive, the main student data base with a preferred name column, and email names - all at the students request. Of course when it comes to offices such as the financial aid office, legal names will still be used but staff has become a lot more accommodating and caring with using the correct pronouns and names when working with students. There's still a lot more work to be done, but incredible progress has been made. Let's keep the pressure on and see this all the way through to the end! Thank you again for the support!
