Upon realizing from our CAC 5th Annual 10 State Tour on African Immigrant Priorities that there were gaps in outreach into the comunity on TPS for West Africans- CAC advocated for an extension of the registration period. Nearly 20 Members of Congress both Republicans and Democrats, wrote to Secretary Jeh Johnson of the Department of Homeland Security, seeking an extension of the May 20th deadline. Such as the New York Delegation, Massachusetts Delegation, New Jersey Delegation including Congressmen Chris Smith (R) and Leonard Lance (R).
