The above article does not appear to address the far more dangerous issue of DU oxide particles that occur when depleted uranium is burned at high temperatures either through the firing of DU penetrator weapons or when DU fragments are hit with high explosives. DU oxide once inhaled is NOT soluble and not excreted through the kidneys. It stays in the body for decades and can travel through the lymph system. Dr. Lorrin Pang, MD and retired Army medical corps has spoken of this danger on many occasions.
