Crimes of a sexual nature are on the rise and the prevailing situation makes it possible not only for sexual predators to repeat their crimes over and over, but also places citizens, especially women, children and young people at great risks of being victimized by such sexual predators. A registry of sex offenders will warn citizens of sexual predators in their communities thereby enabling them to be on high alert and take extra precautions to protect the most vulnerable. A registry could also act as a deterrence to potential sexual predators who may think twice about engaging in such acts for fear of being caught and punished.
