Hi everyone, It has been a little while since we’ve had any updates to post. We received a phone call from Ciara Gill (Policy Officer) at Ombudsman for Children’ Office following the previous conversation we’d had with her. She has received copies of all correspondence we have had with government departments and called to confirm that the Ombudsman for Children will take this issue to Simon Harris directly and other relevant government bodies. This certainly is good news. It is our understanding that the government must respond to the Ombudsman, beyond the simple two paragraph standard response which we have been given time and time again. We can only hope that this is the case. If any of you know any different please let us know. We will keep in contact with the Ombudsman to see if they have been able to gather any further information or to make any progress in fixing this mess for all impacted. As we mentioned previously, these issues will be take to Simon Harris in a general capacity and not referencing our case specifically. We were also kindly invited to attend a meeting tomorrow, Sunday June 10th, in Mountjoy Sq and we are going to attend. We know some of the people who will be there have signed out petition and we are looking forward to meeting people in the same situation as ourselves. While we wouldn’t wish this situation on anyone, we are glad not to be alone in this. We will keep you posted with further updates as soon as we have them.
