San Isidro Cemetery of Madrid, Spain has opted for indifference and apathy towards grave moral matters which concern the burial place of Ante Pavelic. Pavelic was the leader of the Croatian Ustase and is attributed with the deaths of 800 000 to over one million people who were brutally murdered in the Serbian Genocide of WWII. Pavelic is buried at the cemetery. There is not even a plaque explaining Pavelic's role in the largest genocide to ever happen in the Balkans.

Always remember the following about indifference and apathy:

"You life begins to end, the moment you start being silent about the things that matter"

Martin Luther King Jr.

“The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.”
― Elie Wiesel

"We may have found a cure for most evils but we have no remedy for the worst of them all, the apathy of human beings."

-Helen Keller

"Indifference to evil is more insidious than evil itself. It is a silent justification affording evil acceptability in society"

-Abraham Herschel

"The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men"

-Plato

Thank you for your continued support. Please continue to share this petition.

Please note that this petition has never supported the notion that Pavelic's remains be sent back to Croatia. Rather, this petition hopes that his remains are hidden from the public altogether and that his remains be destroyed.
