The Yulin Dog Festival Is Still Happening and It Starts Today

Despite the pandemic and what we have learned from the dangers associated with wet markets, the Yulin Dog Festival is still set to commence today. Though this year it is believed to be on a smaller scale as a result of COVID-19, many cats and dogs will still sadly meet a grisly fate.
As we collectively move through the chaos of 2020, please remember that there is a silver lining in all of this as we have witnessed some incredibly promising advancements too! The Chinese Department of Agriculture eliminated dog meat from the edible meat catalog and two cities (Shenzhen and Zhuhai) have passed laws to ban the dog meat trade! The ball is rolling and momentum is growing, now we just need that final push!
While travel restrictions have unfortunately forced Conscious Compassion to place a mandatory pause on our scheduled rescue missions to China, we continue to advocate for the voiceless and offer our support to the brave souls who are actively intercepting dog meat trucks and the shelter workers who lovingly dedicate their time to offering these animals a safe place to sleep and the care that they deserve.
I am humbly asking for your support to help be part of a compassionate effort to end the dog meat trade once an for all.
Compassion transcends national boundaries and each of you have a meaningful way to be part of this journey with us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
