Our petition asks the Government of Canada to introduce legislation to make it illegal to eat dogs and cats.
That's correct...it is still LEGAL to kill cats and dogs for food. It is an underground market that lives in the most disgusting of places and fueled by the darkness of cruelty. Many news organizations have reported restaurants being caught with dead dogs and cats in their food freezers...and these businesses don't even get shut down, much less get charged by the police.
We've all seen, read and heard of the horrors of countries like China, Vietnam, Africa that eat dogs and cats. With an estimated 30 million dogs horrifically tortured to death to be eaten, the disgusting habits of an uneducated society eating our beloved dogs and cats is occurring here.
Please sign this petition to get to 100,000 signatures. In one month, we are one-third of the way there. Why 100,000 signatures? This seems to be the catalyst point where petition issues get direct attention from Ottawa and turned into action.
I have met privately with Honorable Ken Hardie, Member of Parliament of Canada to discuss criminalization!! He will be talking to the Minister of Justice and Minister of Agriculture to see if this is a public concern and what can be done. That is CORRECT!! Honorable Hardie is actually going to try to get this made into Law!! I can tell you my impression of Honorable Hardie is the exact type of politician we need in all levels of government. His nonpartisan approach to animal welfare is amazing.
