In the waning days of President Obama's term in office, I have written and to and provided a link for this petition to the president before he leaves office. He has already taken important steps in the last two years to strengthen laws on the importation of ivory in to the U.S. For this, we can be grateful. I also requested that the president take any remaining steps he can while still in office to insure his legacy on trying to save these magnificent beings, and our biosphere from further destruction. This is particularly urgent given the incoming administration's apparent disregard for the natural world. I thank all signers who participated in this petition.
