URGENT CALL TO ACTION: DEFEND ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY MONUMENT

A "so-called" Independent Naming Commission has recommended to Congress to re-name military and all memory of the South from its 'military asset inventory'. The most outrageous and vitriolic recommendation is the removal of the Southern Cenotaph at Arlington National Cemetery.
The beautiful sculpture was designed by world renown Jewish sculptor, Sir Moses Ezekiel, who as a young man was a cadet at Virginia Military Institute who served under General Lee during the war of 1861-1865.
The Cenotaph was the brainchild of US Pres. McKinley, himself a veteran of the War, on the Union side, as a symbol of reconciliation between North and South after the Spanish American War. It has been decorated by every US President since that time, including President Obama.
This outrageous proposal must be opposed. A "widget" has been created to quickly allow you to send a message to your elected officials in Washington to reject the Naming Commission's recommendations, especially removing this beautiful memorial surrounded by the graves of Confederate Veterans.
