Hold Judges Accountable & Reform Laws for Our Future Generation

The Issue

Judges do not read the file in its entirety and have the lawyers or the defendant 'explain' their side without looking through and taking into consideration the psychological effects on the Survivors.  My grandson has not seen his mother three times in almost 4 years due to her excuses.  I started a custody battle because my grandson at age 3 stated he was hit by my daughter's boyfriend and was put in the refrigerator.  Now, 4 years later, the current judge, from Mercer County Court in Trenton, New Jersey, had ordered 2 weeks of unsupervised uninterrupted visitation with mom out of state.  The child, 7, did not want to go and was scared to death.

We ask these children to say something, the experts themselves tell us to listen to our children, then the judge sentences them to return to get re-traumatized.  Judges have to be held responsible for their decisions for not reading and being trained on Domestic Violence and the Psychology of the traumatization the child will go through after trusting someone with their truth, then sentencing the child (not the person who started the fight) backward because the judge was not ready to hear that judges do need to be more educated on these issues.

Look at and research Gabriel Fernandez, Noah Cuatro, Aniya Day-Garret, Kayden Mancuso, and Kyra Franchetti.  These are only a few of the cases that Judges have seen enough in front of them and still allowed for the children to be reunified with their families, only to end up dead.  How many more need to die for a change?

While the Courts state there is no age, there really is.  They do not want to hear the child until age 12.  This is absolutely absurd and EVERY Court should at least have where the Court themselves call upon a child to 'interview' them and find a way to see if they are truly being manipulated or they are truly telling us the truth.  I am sure many children would be saved through this tactic.

1) Grandparents are not shown any resources or respect in the courtroom. In most states, grandparents are not even recognized.

2) Educate Judges about REAL Family issues such as Domestic Violence and Child Psychology

3) LISTEN TO OUR CHILDREN NO MATTER THEIR AGE

4) THIS should NOT be considered a 'Civil Matter' when the life of a child is involved

5) Experts/Psychologists/Mandated Reporters and Authorities tell us to listen to our children, BUT if the court does not-what is the point?  If we did not report it, we would get fined/jail time, Judges and Social Workers should have the same repercussions

6) Attorneys should be automatically appointed to these Children

7) Attorneys and Judges SHOULD HAVE respect for us in court at ALL times and NOT think that reunification with natural parents is THEE only solution

8) The system should keep consistent records of ALL adults and how many times the child has been in a Child Protected Services System within all 50 states

9) Attorney fees should be radically reduced or paid by the Victims Assistance Unit when trying to save a child's life no matter where the custody fight is located

Sign and show that these children NEED their voices heard today

We need reform, and we need it NOW
