Dear President Biden:

It is with the greatest respect and gratitude for your service that we, as citizens of the United States, ask you to withdraw from your reelection campaign.

You have served our country honorably for over 50 years and in your 4 years in the presidency, you have had many important accomplishments (the infrastructure act, the inflation reduction act, etc.).  However, it is an unfortunate fact that your cognition has greatly deteriorated, as evidenced by your performance in the June 27th debate with Donald Trump.  It would have been a close election in any circumstances but the debate revealed the level of your deficits. In the latest Axios poll you were 6 points behind Donald Trump.  That's not neck and neck, that's a landslide.

At this point, all signs show that you will most likely to lose against Donald Trump, throwing the very survival of our democracy into great peril.   

Your cognition may vary, so at times you may feel that you're on top of your game.  But you are not and we all saw that on Thursday.  It is time for you to suspend your campaign and allow an electable replacement to step in.  

We simply do not have a choice.  We are playing Russian Roulette with democracy itself.   If Trump wins, our country may never recover. Democracies all over the world are failing.  We are not immune.  Please, please recognize the dire situation we are in and put your country first. Please do the honorable thing to do and step down.  

It is the only patriotic thing to do.
