On January 19th, 2017, the next to the last day of President Obama's second term, he granted sentence commutation to Ricardo Montes. We celebrate this incredible act of mercy that he gave to Ricardo. Ricardo was overjoyed to receive this rare Presidential act of generosity from the President. Since February Ricardo has been transitioning to civilian life by living at a halfway house. However one month from today, Ricardo will leave the halfway house to return home to his children and family. We have started a Change.org fundraiser to help Ricardo be able to purchase many items we all take for granted, having acquired them through the years as we lived and worked, unencumbered by a prison term.
