Put An End to Harmful Photo Taking w/ Wild Animals

The Issue

I have made this petition with the purpose of creating a nationwide public and private beach law that prohibits the forceful removal of innocent sea animals from the ocean shore waters, as well as prohibit the action of taking "selfies" or any form of photography with the animals. Hopefully, we will be able to prevent the unnecessary deaths of what we have left of endangered species.

Over the course of only one week, several human beings have taken ridiculous photos or "selfies" with innocent wildlife creatures. Just last week, we lost an adorable and helpless baby dolphin (pictured above) due to this. A group of tourists and locals in Argentina decided it would be a fabulous idea to remove the small animal from the water, whilst it was with another baby dolphin, pass it around as if it were a rag doll, and take photos with it to post and share on social media. How heartbreaking and gut wrenching is that? After a grueling 15 minutes, whoever picked the dolphin up out of the water placed him back in. Unfortunately, the dolphin died of dehydration. I cannot fathom the thought of a small, defenseless, and vulnerable animal being removed from its home and not being able to do a single thing to help itself. It's truly saddening.

It upsets me to think that technology has made our world succumb to the pathetic idea that we must go to extreme lengths to appear cool, whether that be via social media or just the internet in general. A poor, innocent and beautiful baby animal died because human beings are utterly ignorant. We need to spread awareness that this type of behavior shall no longer be tolerated.
