Preserve the Status and Recognition of Senior Accredited NCPS and BACP Members

Preserve the Status and Recognition of Senior Accredited NCPS and BACP Members
The Issue
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and NCPS are revoking the senior accreditation status of their members as part of the plans to adopt the SCoPEd framework. This move is met with strong opposition from Senior Accredited members who have already fulfilled rigorous standards in skills, knowledge, training, and experience. They have also paid substantial fees to achieve this recognition. It's unjust to downgrade their status and set new criteria for them to regain their title. We believe that this decision undermines their professional standing and devalues their significant contributions to the field. We urge BACP not only to reconsider these proposals but also engage in a more transparent dialogue with its members about any future changes affecting them directly. Please sign this petition if you support our cause for maintaining respect for experienced professionals within BACP.
