On July 10th, after a period of inactivity, KIP 20 LLC completed the demolition of the historic buildings at 125-127 Red Hill Rd. At the time I speculated that this was done on a Saturday morning so nobody would notice. It could also be the sign of renewed momentum in the plan to turn Red Hill Road into a Strip Mall.
There will be a "completeness hearing" on July 20th before Holmdel Zoning Board. KIP 20 is requesting a waiver to file an incomplete application. It appears that in addition to ignoring the requirements of the residential/agricultural zoning designed to preserve the unique character of the Gateway to Holmdel they also wish to ignore the requirements to file a complete application. This means that the Board must "trust" the applicant that the matters not addressed in the application are not relevant to it. Should they?
