Just to provide another update regarding the permanent removal of the turntable and the creation of an off-site memorial near the Dauphin Rail Station.

The removal date from the City Public Works site is scheduled to begin August 18, 2025.  We have requested a 15' x 14' portion of the turntable bridge with the turntable motor and track be saved for the off-site memorial purposes.  The proposed site of the memorial will be just East of the Rail Station in CN Park with it placed parallel to 1st Ave NW in a roughly east/west orientation.

We have been in discussions with Don Tarrant from Reit-Syd Equipment to assist with the removal, transport and placement of the turntable bridge.  He has been kind enough to donate some of his time to help us with planning stages.  The movement of the turntable will cost approximately $10,000 - $25,000 (depending on who moves the structure).  This does not include the cost of some of the educational/interpretive component to exist with the memorial once in place.

The City of Dauphin has indicated that they will contribute $10,000 to the project and will match donations up to $20,000.  Donations can be paid via cash, debit or cheque.  Payments should be earmarked to the "Turntable Memorial" either verbally or if by mailing a cheque it can be noted in the memo section of the cheque.  Tax receipts will be immediately issued upon receiving payment and there is no minimum amount of donation required to receive the tax receipt.

We are awaiting a response from the City regarding the removal process.  Updates will follow.

Thanks again for your interest in this exceptional historical artifact and the creation of this memorial honouring Dauphin's rail past.
