It has been heartbreaking for our community, our parents, and especially our children to return from the summer holidays today and see the developer’s works underway firsthand. To witness the loss and destruction of our precious green‑space playground has been deeply distressing.

Despite this, a dedicated group continues to advocate tirelessly to elevate our voices and to make clear just how disappointing and upsetting it is that this project has been allowed to progress. All without listening to all of the community feedback and concern. We are thinking of you all during this difficult time and share the frustration and sadness that despite our continual hard work, all of your amazing support, respectful requests for a rethink from so many of our local leaders and calls for genuine community consultation this development has still been pushed through. Our unique playground space and koala habitat is now being destroyed daily right in front of our eyes. 

If you are hurting over the loss of our TPPS playground, please don’t miss your opportunity to make your voice heard again. This was not the right site. Viable alternatives were ignored. Our school grounds and playground are recognised koala habitat - critical for breeding and raising young. And our children deserved access to green, open space that supports their wellbeing, learning, and sense of belonging.
