Preserve St. Leonard's Day Nursery from Closure

The Issue

My son, a child with special education needs (SEN), has found a home at St. Leonard's Day Nursery. As a parent to this wonderful child, we have faced our fair share of challenges. But at the nursery, he has thrived, comfortable with the staff and happy in an environment that provides him with the 1:1 support he needs. It remains a fact, after all, that children with SEN, especially those at level 4, require this bespoke attention (source: National Education Union, UK). This isn't just about our personal circumstance, but affects every family and child that attends the nursery which, we've learned the hard way, is a rare gem in our community.

However, we are facing a crisis. St. Leonard's Church is forcing the closure of our beloved day nursery and this decision will severely disrupt stability for these all  children at thenursery, including those with SEN. The impact is immeasurable and the consequences long-lasting.

The nursery's closing not only affects the emotional and social well-being of all the  children but also deprives our community from an essential facility that is key to the development of our young ones and 8 amazing staff losing their job. Also including those parent who rely on the nursery to work are risk losing their job as well. I appeal to the broader community, the local authorities, and every concerned individual, to support us in this dire time.

Please sign this petition to stop the closure of St. Leonard's Day Nursery. Let's stand together to ensure the continuity of high-quality, inclusive childcare in our community.
