Memories of Maralinga PS

On another fb page Janet wrote  "I had a very special connection to Maralinga Primary School. I was there when the foundations were being dug and as I stood looking a gentleman came along and introduced himself, I’m Felix Blesser he said, when the school is built I will be the Principal.
We talked for some time and met on several occasions as the school took shape.
Two of my children moved into Maralinga from Chandler PS.
I was on a fund raising committee and shortly afterwards became the President for the Parent Committee.
The Fund raising Committee worked very hard at weekend putting Heinz Baked Beans into 6 packs providing money for library books.
The early days were happy times with a group of Mums forming two netball teams. Some Mums had small children and they were looked after by volunteers in the Library under the supervision of Mrs Vaughan.
All such a long time ago
I’m pleased to see the park grounds looking so good and being enjoyed by the community that lives near there these days."
