DESPERATE Keysborough residents have teamed up to try and save their local park from developers after the Department of Education and Training, which owns most of the reserve, made moves to sell it. 

It follows a similar move by residents near the drug and vandalism plagued former Southvale Primary School in Noble Park, now a vacant block also being prepared to be put on the market by the department.

Chandler Road Reserve sits adjacent to the former Maralinga Primary School, now vacant after the school was closed in 2014 and buildings demolished earlier this year.

It left residents with a large reserve to walk their dogs, play with their kids, fly kites and kick a football.
