Please submit your Colorado CPW Commission comments and see the attached pics/graphs regarding why we need to remove the fake tag allocation caps from the Commission or go to the Colorado Resident Hunter Association on Facebook. Note our declining youth in elk hunts, the nonresident surge in elk applications (45k), and residents drawing 17,000 fewer elk tags. This is all largely the result of CPWs fake tag caps. The Commission meeting is on Nov 15th so get your comments in soon! No other state in the country has "soft" caps for its resident hunters. The CPW Staff is going against the recommendation of the Draw Process Working Group (link)-- who voted to get rid of the fake caps which would allow our tag allocation caps to apply to all 4 draw choices of the primary draw. CPW continues to serve the nonresident dollar. To ensure that your comments are included in the rulemaking record and presented to the Commission, please send emails to: dnr_cpwcommission@state.co.us.
