The Issue

For nearly 100 years, Long Beach Taxi has served the City of Long Beach, providing safe, reliable, and affordable transportation for residents, commuters, and visitors.

Our service is vital to:

The Elderly & Locals – Many passengers rely on our familiar dispatchers and consistent service, knowing they can travel safely within their community.

Affordable Transportation – Our fares are as low as $5 per zone, often one-third to one-quarter the cost of rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft.

Community Trust – We have a 4.8-star rating, and our dispatchers know many of our customers personally, offering service that no app can replace.

Fairness & Precedent – Every train station in Long Island has a taxi stand at its base. There is no reason Long Beach should be treated differently.

Removing the taxi stand to install barricades or otherwise displace Long Beach Taxi would harm commuters, seniors, and working families who depend on this essential service.

We respectfully call on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and the City of Long Beach to ensure that Long Beach Taxi remains at the Long Beach Train Station, as it has for generations.

Sign below to show your support for Long Beach Taxi and for keeping fair, accessible transportation available to everyone in Long Beach.

We, the undersigned, strongly oppose the removal of the Long Beach Taxi stand from the Long Beach Train Station. The Long Beach Taxi stand, located at 1 W Park Avenue, Long Beach, NY 11561, directly at the base of the Long Island Rail Road platform, has served the community for nearly a century.
