Good Morning, Everyone!

We wanted to provide you with an update on our progress in selecting an attorney. We have agreed in principle to retain an appellate attorney with 40 years of experience to serve as co-counsel for our case. We are currently in discussions with several attorneys to determine who will serve as our lead counsel.

From our discussions with attorneys, the estimated costs to file an injunction and our lawsuit is $25,000 to take it to trial. We need these funds immediately! If you haven’t already, please donate to the GoFundMe account now. We cannot retain the attorneys and file the injunction and lawsuit(s) without the necessary funds.

Neighbors, the law is on our side. We can stop this high-density development.  No where in the country has zoning been changed to allow 30’ X 100’ lots adjacent to a SF-E community like Lake Ridge.  WHY??  Because that type of rezoning is unlawful!!! In a similar case in Plano, citizens, just like us, stood up against the city council and prevailed in court.

This is one of our paths to victory to defeat this high-density Balcones subdivision. There is additional established case law from Austin, Plano and the Dallas courts that has set a precedent for our case to defeat and overturn the city council vote.    

As the author of the petition and starter of the GoFundMe account, I have sole access to the funds and take this effort very seriously. ALL FUNDS will be directed to our success and nothing else. You have seen my unwavering commitment and dedication to stopping the Balcones Development of small lots and small homes. Please join me in making our voices heard to overturn this City Council vote that favors the developer. It is estimated that the developer will profit roughly $100+ million from this high-density development.

If we do not stop this Balcones neighborhood, the small lots and small homes will show up as Comparable Sales on our appraisals, reducing property values for every property in the Lake Ridge community.

If everyone will donate just $100, we can easily achieve our goal and secure future funding for the recall of a dysfunctional council.
