Again, I want to thank you all for your unending support. We are over 900 signatures and counting today! That's just incredible to me. Please continue to spread the word!
I wanted to let you all know that OUR FIGHT IS JUST BEGINNING. After the undesirable outcome at last week's public hearing, we are moving forward.
Read on to see how:
- We are in the process of securing an attorney that specializes in real estate, specifically zoning.
- Once secured, an injunction will be filed. This prevents the city from acting further on the Balcones Ranch development.
- We are getting a political consultant involved to help with a recall effort of ALL CITY COUNCIL members. They showed their stripes last week. Enough is enough. It is time that we have a council of the people, for the people.
- Along with a recall, we will be working to OVERTURN the 2022 comprehensive city plan that relabeled the land in question so that they could move forward with rezoning. If successful, they will revert to the 2008 plan that shows the land as SF-E (single family estate), which will prohibit the development.
Why bother with all this? Because we have case law (a similar successful overturn in Plano) that shows we can win this thing. The city has shown us as plainly as possible that they will do what they want, regardless of our opposition. NO PART of the city is immune to this sort of threat.
