CENSORSHIP WILL NOT STAND IN OUR WAY

Following the erection of a plastic shed and yellow lines in Kilbroney Park a few days ago, and then the information in the media that informed a shocked community in Rostrevor, Co. Down and beyond that NMDDC were introducing charges for car parking in their much loved and well used Kilbroney Park, we set up this petition in good faith to show that these actions were not taken with the agreement of the local community who use the park. The survey that was taken a few years ago was a disclosed document, we were repeatedly blocked from sharing the petition link on Rostrevor and Area Community News, we have been reported on Facebook daily, our comments and page Friends of Kilbroney Park has been suspended. Somebody somewhere would like our voice to be silenced but we will not be quiet. We will not take this on the chin and get a pathetic permit to park in our park.

The whole town knows there will be absolute chaos in Rostrevor if these charges are allowed to go ahead. We see tonight on Rostrevor and Area Community news (screenshots were forwarded to us) that people are planning to protest. We think everyone has the right to stand up for their park and we will join you if you do. In the meantime, our hands are tied here and we are completely relying on all those who have signed up so far to share the word that our socials have been suspended.

Friends of Kilbroney Park has been locked on Facebook and hidden from public view and our individual accounts have been suspended as well.  Please share the life out of this petition. Print it off and put it in all the local shops. Print links to the petition off and hand them out to people on the street. DO NOT GIVE UP BECAUSE WE WONT GIVE UP. Phone. Email. Complain to the Council in writing.

KILBRONEY PARK SHOULD BE FREE FOR ALL.
