We have won this battle and we could not have done it without you!

At this time, ASRM/SART/SRBT has withdrawn its request to "reinstate" the ELD at this time. I would like to applaud ASRM and SART and their current presidents, Paula Amato, MD and Steven Spandorfer, MD for withdrawing the request to "reinstate" the ELD from the American Board of Bioanalysis. I have reached out to the board to confirm that this request has been removed from their docket.  I will let you know once I have confirmation. 

We appreciate the efforts made to acknowledge the lack of transparency and inclusivity in the initial process. We believe that a more robust approach is required to ensure the collective voice of not only SRBT, but CRB and our entire community at large. All opinions need to be thoroughly heard and considered. Above all, our concern has been with patient safety.  We are still going to stay on top of this to ensure that any future meetings present an impartial platform for discussions to assist in fostering an environment where all members feel comfortable sharing their perspectives openly.  We want to confirm that they provide regular updates during the process. 

We are still strongly opposed to removing the doctoral requirement for the Embryology Laboratory Director, and the use of the word "reinstate" the ELD was misleading.

We agree there is a shortage of qualified Embryologists in this field and look forward to productive discussions to meet the staffing requirements that our industry needs without lowering standards. Given the complexity of procedures in the Embryology Laboratory and the critical role we play in our patients' lives. This fight has underscored the need for effective oversight in our field. This oversight is essential to ensure adherence to the quality standards needed to uphold the high levels of patient care our field deserves.
