Wicomico County is updating its Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP) for the next five years, and they are specifically asking for feedback on partnership park locations.

This is our chance! We know Wicomico County has a need for public trails for long-distance running, hiking, and biking. Public water access for paddleboarding, canoeing, and kayaking near the city limits would benefit so many!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Connelly Mill Park is the missing piece!

Located just adjacent to the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex, this 234-acre site would not only protect our public drinking water (Paleochannel) and the headwaters of the Wicomico River but also: Extend the Naylor Mill Forest trails, creating a massive, interconnected trail system for runners and bikers. Open up new water access for kayaks and paddleboards in a serene, nature-first setting. Create a haven for birdwatchers and nature enjoyers right next to town.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
