Despite opposition from the community, County Executive Julie Giordano has shown no intention to stop the upcoming Safari on the Quarry events scheduled for July. The County Council is currently developing legislation to prohibit similar future events, but it will not take effect in time.
However, we still have one more avenue to preserve Connelly Mill Park. The primary recourse now lies with Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor. We urge you to join us in contacting Mayor Taylor to encourage him to pursue a permanent injunction against these events due to ongoing residential zoning code violations and to help preserve Connelly Mill Park.
We ask that you please take a moment to sign and share our new letter campaign to Mayor Taylor calling on him to stop this event. You can send your letter here: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-salisbury-mayor-randy-taylor-stop-safari-at-the-quarry/
