The Heritage Museum's new lease was signed last year, before the Parish Council became aware, that the building would have to be demolished, and they are now in the position of having to find a new home!

Our history, our heritage, and our community educational resource are at risk. As residents of Bilsthorpe, Newark, UK, we have a personal connection to the local heritage site that is under threat. This site represents not just bricks and mortar but the collective memory of our community. It's where we've learned about our past and where future generations should have the opportunity to do so too.

According to Historic England, there are over 400,000 listed sites in England alone (Historic England), each one a testament to the rich tapestry of our nation's history. Our local mining museum and heritage site is one such place - an irreplaceable link to our past that deserves protection.
