The city of Philadelphia is looking to move forward with their plan to develop housing on the dozen lots listed in the original petition details. We are still trying to see if they will allow us to keep two of the twelve for our community garden (1544 and 1546 Ogden St). The Philadelphia Land Bank of Directors will be hosting a hearing meeting next week. If you want to help us, this is our final chance - after this meeting, the decision will be made. There are two ways you can help:
- Attend the meeting on Tuesday, June 8th at 10:00am at the Philadelphia Land Bank, 1234 Market Street, 17th Floor Conference Room, Philadelphia PA 19107
- Send an email to Andrea Imredy Saah, Senior Counsel at andrea.saah@phdc.phila.gov (and BCC lilogdengarden@gmail.com)
In this email, you can share your support by sharing why you think these two lots should remain a community garden and what having a community / green space means to you.
Thank you in advance! Your support means so much to us! Again, we are all in favor of workforce housing and the many empty, unused lots that will provide homes; we will be sharing alternative sites to the city at the meeting.
