CEAA Requested the Provincial Government to Evaluate the Tri-River Joint Reservoir

The Federal Environmental Review Agency (CEAA) Requested that the Provincial Government Evaluate the Tri-River Joint Reservoir of Alberta proposal.
. This Request confirms the legitimacy of TRJR and the need for its evaluation to begin as soon as possible.
. This request was sent August 31, 2018 but to date no indication has been given that this study has begun.
. Citizens and leaders realize the urgency of the need for flood protection for Calgary, our vulnerable river communities and First Nation lands but we do not see that our decision makers and mainstream news distributors are paying attention.
. Below is the link to the letter from CEAA. Note in particular, the Information Requests regarding the safety of Springbank Off-stream Reservoir under the following headings:
. Climate Change – Page 5; Probable Maximum Precipitation – Page 7; Design Flood – Page 9. Request for the Study of Alternative Means – See Page 80.
Please write to your MLA, MP and councillor and ask that they inform themselves regarding the great opportunity the TRJR option offers and request their support in getting a feasibility study commenced on this proposal as soon as possible. A flood of letters to the editors of local papers could also help bring attention to the urgency of flood protection for all our vulnerable river communities.
