Save Grow Calgary Farm

Save Grow Calgary Farm
The Issue
Save Grow Calgary, Save Our Surplus, Save Our Soil, SOS
Grow Calgary is on 2 parcels of land. The TUC Land (which we have vacated) and the Surplus Land (about 2 hectares), where our farm is situated and which is not required for the construction of the 1000+ hectare West Ring Road.
We have formally requested that the farm be allowed to remain on the Surplus parcel.

Grow Calgary, Canada’s largest urban community farm, is dedicated to providing organic, fresh, local, and healthy produce to low income families and vulnerable Albertans. Since 2013 our 11-acre farm, located near COP, has operated without chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. 100% of the produce grown is donated to 50+ social agencies with food access programs including Alpha House, the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, Inn From the Cold, The Drop-In Centre and the Veterans Health Program. Grow Calgary operates 100% on volunteer work! Almost 30,000 Calgarians have become volunteer farmers and 17,000 students & youth have been hosted on 100% free field trips over our 6 seasons of production.
