Today’s the day! From the bush to the big smoke, I’m in Brisbane today to send a clear message to our elected representatives that you, me and thousands of other Australians are standing up for a sustainable future for Queensland. The details: What: Petition handover media event on the front steps of Parliament House WHEN: 10.45am, Monday 5 March 2018 - TODAY! WHERE: Queensland Parliament (Cnr George & Alice St, Brisbane CBD) WHO: Angus Emmott (Longreach Grazier), Will Graham (Emerald Grazier) and the Farmers for Climate Action team If you’re around Brisbane today, please come on down to Parliament House. I’d love to shake your hand and thank you personally for your support. When I launched my petition in June last year, calling on the Premier to rescind the unlimited groundwater licence granted to the project I had absolutely no idea that over 110,000 Australians would chose to stand with me - backing my vision of Queensland future of clean energy, clean water and clean food. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. One of those true blue Aussies who share my vision for a sustainable future is an inspiring young Willows grazier, by the name of Will Graham. As many of you know, when news broke that the rights of graziers along the proposed rail corridor had been overridden with the compulsory acquisition of grazing land; Will leapt into action to stand up for graziers silenced and intimidated by the might of the Adani project: launching a petition to oppose the compulsory acquisition. To date, Will’s petition has been signed by over 44,000 people, and he will join me today on the steps of Parliament. Angus Emmott Noonbah Station
