Our petition has helped shine a light on the groundwater risks of the Adani mine, including prompting packed-out community meetings about it last week. 70 people came along to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame here in Longreach and 40 people came to a cotton farm in Emerald. One of the graziers who came to the meeting in Emerald is William Graham from Withersfield Station. That day, we learnt that the Queensland Government had compulsorily acquired grazing land for the rail line from Adani’s proposed mine, to Abbot point coal terminal. Will was so fired up he started a campaign against the compulsory acquisition. It’s already over 10,000 and growing quickly.
