Prayers for Edan, and for the release of every hostage still held in Gaza

We intensify our collective prayer at the news (at time of writing) of the likely release of Edan Alexander, a dual Israeli-American citizen and the last living American hostage known to be held by Hamas. It has been more than 580 days since Edan was brutally taken into captivity in Gaza. Another 58 hostages are believed to be held.

Traveling through Israel at time of writing, the ongoing plight of the hostages is visibly seared into the consciousness of this nation, their faces and the pain of their families crying out from images and messages fastened to buildings, fences, posts, crossings, street corners... everywhere.

Wherever we are in the world at this moment, our remembering hearts remain steadfastly united in prayer, until every hostage is returned home to their family, to their people, to their home. May our prayers for all who are suffering in this terrible conflict be heard and answered soon. Our hearts are breaking, but our hope and faith are strengthened as we continue to prayer together.
