Our Prayers Intensify as hostage release approaches

As the beginnings of a hostage release process approaches, our prayers intensify, and we thank you for your ongoing efforts.

While “Pray for the hostages” can sound like a simple task, there are so many facets to our prayer.

Praying for their return is our starting point. We also pray:

• For their physical safety and psychological health in captivity;
• For their healing that will be required when they return;
• For their families, that they will have the strength to endure and meet these horrific challenges;
• For their families, that their existing relationships back home will not break under the stress;
• That the hostage release will proceed as planned;
• For those hostages left behind in the initial stage of the release;
• For those who have been killed, and for their families;
• For those left ‘not knowing’;
• For those involved in the task of negotiations;
• For all governments and nations affected by these abductions;
• For mercy and justice to prevail in these dark times;
• For the gift of hope, courage and resilience for all;
• For ____________ who I am especially partnering in prayer....

We each pray in our unique way, in heartfelt terms, together enfolding these men, women and children in our circle of prayer.

Today I came across a similar initiative, in the Jewish community, that personalizes the support for the hostages: the Missing Heroes Initiative.
