Prayer for a 24X7 Emergency Medical Service in Assam for Animals #SaveEverySoul
The Issue
4th September 2022 , we found Chintu , a stray dog severely injured vomiting blood lying down the roadside. One of my friends family and other people were taking care to the extent they could but it was already 11:30 pm and they couldn't get any vets to visit the dog. I called up more than 20 numbers but got no positive response from. Only 2 of them helped us in educating what to do. And they were individuals not working for any ngo or government. I called up NGOs, clinics, vets but no positive response from any of them and there Chintu was shaking and bleeding profusely.
We were helpless as we had no place to take him to or no-one to pay a visit to help him. At last we drove to veterinary college Khanapara with the hope we would find someone. The guards refused to let us in and asked us to come back in the morning as there is no emergency service for animals at that hour. We are in the capital city in 2022 but there's still no kind of emergency service available for the animals. We couldn't believe what we were hearing.
Lucky for us, there were two good souls that we found who agreed to visit and helped Chintu with the first aids and asked us to take him to the veterinary clinic in the morning. Chintu suffered the whole night bleeding internally that's what we are supposing and left for heavenly abode at around 3:30 am that night. We couldn't save that innocent soul. The vets said he was either hit with a rod or by a car.
This is inhuman. With the growing livestock and stray animals , this is the need of the hour to have an emergency veterinary service in Assam. We need timely and prompt delivery of 24X7 emergency veterinary service to the site and emergency centers in various places of Assam starting with the capital first.
This is of utmost importance for any beings to receive timely treatment for the survival of the same. A distress calling number should be assigned so that these helpless animals can be saved in time by the person on site who sees them first .
Next a 24X7 centre to treat the animals .
And an ambulance service to pick them up safely and provide them first aids and appropriate treatment.
We don't want any other Chintu to suffer like he did. It's a prayer to the authority to provide for a 24X7 emergency veterinary service in Assam. Every soul matters.
The very idea of India stood upon the ahimsa and compassion for each and every living being. It's a step for a better nation together to care for every soul that lives. Please sign this petition and share among your friends to garner the attention it deserves for a quicker action. Let's not devoid the animals of their basic needs just because they can't talk.
