Mr Atul Bhatlkalkar visited Whispering palms during our Sports Fiesta as the Chief Guest and addressed 500 + residents and also interacted with them He talked about the issues raised in the petition . I will list down the points which he mentioned : 1. M & M trucks will not ply during 8am to 11am & 5pm to 8pm . 2. The balance two sewer points will be covered in the next 15 days 3. Discussions will happen with the auto union to control the jam near hanuman temple 4. Parking in Lokhandwala of trucks & buses will be dealt with . According to him some of the trucks & buses are owned by people residing in Lokhandwala and they need to be talked to. 5. Illegal structures , illegal taxi and rickshaw stand to be removed . There was some visible action today on it . 6. The "U" turn at Thakur complex is planned to be free. It was also suggested that the right turn at Sports authority for vehicles coming from Kandivali West /station going to highway be stopped . Instead the vehicles will take the left after Growel mall and take a "U " turn at Thakur . This will ease traffic at the juction 7.He also mentioned that a "holistic plan" is required to solve the traffic issue and he has invited traffic experts to come with a plan . 8. He also updated that there is a DP road sanctioned from Lokhandwala to Thakur village . It had 3 issues . First , It willl pass through M& M factory, M & M has verbally agreed but needs to give a written consent , Secondly, there is some forest land which has some hutments but this can be relocated and permission from central environment ministry is in place to use the land . Third , there is a transit camp which can be relocated . However , according to him it will take 12 to 18 months to get this entire process done . He and his team has promised to keep this dialogue going . Let us hope that our demands are met . We will be keeping this forum active to report issues and also share good news if any .
