Last week we had a demonstartion at Centrium Circle against Hawkers menace and against the proposed development plan ( DP) . MCGM has a plan to have 700 hawkers in Lokhandwala for which we need to make a representation . More importantly , we need to make a representation on the DP plan by 24th April stating our concerns . Please find a draft which if you agree needs to be send to the MCGM . Request it to be sent asap. Please find attached the letter to be sent to the Chief Engineer (address given in letter), for the objections to the DP Plan. I observed that DP Plan put on the web site is incorrect. Following are the few examples: 1) Missing Nala: A 'Nala' present in the existing school plot bearing CTS No. 171/1A/7PlotA is missing in the DP plan. 2) Missing temple: The “Sai Temple” in the plot bearing CTS No. 171/1A/11PlotB, next to Whispering palms society is missing in the DP plan. 3) Need Police Chowky and Waste sorting center: The DP Plan has made reservation for 7 additional plots for schools (DP category - RE1.1). This is in addition to already 3 existing school. Bring the total count of schools to 10. This is too much for our township. We instead want some of these plot to be reserved/developed for other purposes. I suggest the following: a) Our township does not have any allocated a small place for police chowky, a small part of the plot bearing CTS No 171/1A/45 PlotE could be reserved for this. b) Our township does not have any common space allocated for Solid Waste Sorting. Hence I request you to allocate either of the plots bearing CTS no 171/1A/21 or 171/1A/22 PlotD for Solid waste Sorting. These plots are not close to any residential buildings hence not likely to face any resistance from the locals. 4) Need Community Library: Plot bearing CTS No. 171/1A/21 is reserved as a Municipal Market. However this place is not suitable as it right next to residential buildings. Additionally we do not have any reserved place for a Community Library. Hence I request you to reserve this plot for a public library. 5) No increase in FSI: Max permissible FSI for Lokhandwala township has been given as 3.5. This is too high as we lack proper infrastructure like access to emergency services, access to arterial roads and access to quality health care services. Only after these are developed can we consider an increased FSI. And we also demand no new high rises be given permission till such time these issues are fixed. 6) Need Fire Station: Lokhandwala township has many high rises but has no fire station in the vicinity equipped with aids to reach higher storey’s in case of a fire. Until the proposed 90ft rd road from Thakur village to Lokhandwala township is developed it will take minimum 45 minutes for the fire brigade to reach our township. Hence it is important that a fire station with the necessary equipment be provided in the vicinity. I request you to first correct the plan itself for inviting suggestions from the citizens. I cannot discuss and come to any suggestions on the wrong DP Plan put on the Website. Please extend submission date of 24th April for objections/suggestions by next 6 to 9 months. As the Citizens are unaware of the DP Plans, proper communication through the Social Media, Newspapers, Respective Ward officers, MP, MLA & Nagarsevak's should build confidence and improve awareness on such matters of Sensitive Nature. I request you to please extend the 24th April deadline for submission of Suggestions/Objections for further period of 6 to 9 months in public interest. I am forwarding some of the suggestions/ objections for your perusal and necessary actions. I am confident that in future many points and suggestions will emerge out with the increase in Public awareness on this DP Plan. Kindly also let me know, your assumptions and presumptions along with the Data used while developing this DP Plan for next 20 years. Request you to please put it on the web site.
