Stop The Production and Ban Plastic Bags

Stop The Production and Ban Plastic Bags
The Issue
There has been many government announcements about banning plastic bags but none of them have been implemented and enforced effectively. And the use of plastic bags still continues to date. Plastic being a non-biodegradable substance is either burnt (causing air pollution), or landfilled (causing land pollution and leaching of microplastic over time), or it is dumped into the ocean and rivers where it stays forever threatening the marine flora and fauna. It's a clear fact that it is harmful to the environment in more than one way. A lot of other options are available jute bags, paper bags, etc. Maybe the big shops and malls have stopped using the plastic bags but many of them charge for the paper bag that is supposed to be free. And the small shops in towns, villages and even metro cities still continue the use of plastic bags. An effective ban is required to stop this chain of environmental degradation.
According to ICUN, About 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans every year. Marine Species ingest or get entangled with the plastic debris and get hurt or die. Ban the Production, Sale, and Use of plastic bags. Encourage the use of alternate and more eco-friendly options. Now we can stay ignorant or we can make a change. Your Choice Makes A Difference.
